Personal Styling FAQs
-
Not at all. Part of our work is helping you discover and define your personal style. We take the time to understand your lifestyle, preferences, and what makes you feel comfortable and confident, then work with you to build a wardrobe that feels authentically yours. You do not need to arrive with a clear vision—that is something we can develop together.
-
Yes. Whether you are looking for a one-time closet edit, a seasonal wardrobe refresh, or ongoing styling support, we tailor our services to your needs. Some clients work with us for a specific occasion or transition, while others prefer a continuing relationship to keep their wardrobes current and working well for them.
-
Absolutely. We offer shopping and styling for special occasions, as well as wardrobe planning for travel. We consider the destination, itinerary, dress code, and your personal preferences to put together looks that feel appropriate, comfortable, and distinctly you.
-
An assistant manages many of the practical details that support your styling experience, such as unpacking and repacking merchandise, coordinating shipments, tracking purchases, and organizing look photos. This allows your stylist to focus on you and your wardrobe while helping the process run smoothly before, during, and after your appointment.
-
Yes. We work with clients throughout the United States and internationally. Our team can discuss the best way to work together based on your location, styling needs, and schedule.
-
There is no required preparation, and you do not need to have your wardrobe or style goals figured out beforehand. We will guide you through the process. Any questions, inspiration, or wardrobe challenges you would like to share can be helpful starting points, but they are not necessary.
-
The time involved depends on your goals and the scope of the work. A focused appointment for a particular need will be different from a comprehensive wardrobe refresh, which may involve closet editing, shopping, and putting together looks over several sessions. Please contact our Director of Operations to discuss your needs and receive a more personalized estimate of the time involved.
-
We help you identify the pieces that no longer serve you and consider the best next step, whether resale or donation. The right option will depend on the items and your preferences.
-
Yes. We organize and thoughtfully arrange your clothing and accessories so your closet is easy to navigate and you can clearly see what you own. Beyond creating an orderly space, we want to make outfit possibilities more apparent and getting dressed feel easier.
-
We can assist with sourcing pieces that are sold out or difficult to find. While availability cannot be guaranteed, we will explore the options and give you a realistic sense of what is possible. When the exact item is unavailable, we can also help identify alternatives.
-
We do our best to accommodate last-minute requests, depending on stylist availability and the scope of what you need. Please share your deadline and any specific requirements when you contact us. We will be upfront about what we can realistically accomplish within the available time.
Interior Design FAQs
-
We specialize in residential interior design, creating homes that reflect our clients’ personal style and how they live. Our approach considers both the overall feeling of a space and the details that make it comfortable, functional, and uniquely yours. Most importantly, we take on only 3–4 projects at a time to ensure our clients have direct contact with principal Joe Lupo and that there is strong alignment between our vision and yours. Because our background is in styling and helping clients identify a unique look, our project styles range extensively. This distinction sets us apart from other design firms. We believe synergy with our clients is crucial and that the process should be fun and joyful.
-
Once the design agreement is signed, we begin by getting to know your needs, preferences, and vision for your home. We assess the space, review existing architectural features, and identify any furnishings or elements that will remain.
From there, we develop furniture plans and a design scheme, including recommendations for color, wall and floor coverings, furnishings, textiles, and window treatments. We bring these ideas together in a presentation—often with renderings—to help you visualize the proposed design and provide feedback.
After the design scheme is approved, we move into purchasing. Items are shipped to a local warehouse that specializes in receiving, inspecting, and storing furniture. We then coordinate an installation so the furnishings can be delivered and installed together, with our design team overseeing the process and presenting the completed home to you. -
Absolutely. We welcome the opportunity to incorporate pieces that are meaningful to you. Whether it is a favorite work of art, an inherited piece of furniture, or something you love, we consider how it can fit into the layout and overall design. These pieces help make a home feel personal.
-
Yes. We routinely collaborate with architects and contractors and coordinate with other vendors as needed. Clear communication among everyone involved keeps the interior design aligned with the broader vision for the home. We also recommend architects whose work fits beautifully with our vision. This collaborative process is what makes a home truly extraordinary.
-
We believe both should be hired at the same time if extensive construction is involved. The designer will work alongside the architect to ensure a cohesive vision and seamless execution.
-
The process is collaborative, and your input is essential. Our initial consultations and site visits help us understand your taste, priorities, and how you use your space. We then develop recommendations and guide you through decisions, incorporating your feedback as the design takes shape. This typically occurs over a few design meetings; once decisions are finalized, you can step back and enjoy the progress.
-
It depends on the scale of the project. Decorative updates can move quickly, depending on item lead times. We typically need about one month to establish the design concept. Custom millwork or finishes can extend the drawing process by a few weeks. When construction is involved, planning, permitting, and architectural drawings add time. Construction itself usually takes anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, with 6 to 8 months being a realistic estimate for apartment projects.
-
We can work on single rooms or smaller updates if our workload permits, depending on our current project commitments.
-
Yes. We develop floor plans in-house to establish the layout and furniture placement. When a project calls for professional renderings beyond our in-house capabilities, we work with specialized outside firms. Those services are billed at cost, with no markup.
-
Furniture is delivered together as part of a coordinated installation, with the interior designer and associate designer on-site to supervise placement. Once installation is complete, our team presents the finished space to you.
-
We use a professional furniture receiving and inspection warehouse to identify issues before items reach your home. If an item is delayed, we keep you informed about any impact on the installation schedule. If an item arrives damaged, we work with the vendor and receiving team to coordinate an appropriate resolution.
