creating the
ultimate backdrop
VT Home is the residential interior design division of Visual Therapy, founded by Joe Lupo. As a co-founder of Visual Therapy, Lupo expanded his expertise into interior design after co-authoring three books on personal style and gaining recognition as a color expert. His passion led him to study interior design at Parsons New School.
Lupo's design philosophy emphasizes balance and proportion, blending antiques, vintage pieces, contemporary items, and custom furniture to create spaces that reflect his clients' individual styles. He believes that the right mix of elements forms the perfect backdrop for life, the ideal home.
Since its launch in 2010, VT Home has designed numerous homes, primarily in New York City and the Hamptons, as well as several destination properties, including a mid-century home on Vashon Island, an historic home in New Orleans, and a Palm Beach condo. Recent projects include: a contemporary loft in Flatiron, a 10,000 ft sq home in Water Mill, and an 8-room residence in the historic Belnord.

Bespoke FURNITURE
& MILLWORK
When designing a project, there are often times when the perfect piece of furniture hasn’t been created yet, or it exists in a form that isn’t quite right for our needs. In these instances, we turn to our local workrooms to manufacture the exact piece we’ve imagined for the space, in the perfect size and shape.
Whether we are designing custom bookcases, a kitchen, a closet, or, in this case, a custom bar for a highly discerning client, we rely on our local millworkers to bring our vision to life. In most cases, the lead times are shorter than ordering from a well-known showroom, and we have the added benefit of being able to visit the workroom periodically. This allows us to check the progress and ensure that the finishes meet our exact standards before delivery and installation.
The same approach applies to window treatments, where we work closely with our drapery team, as well as upholstery projects with our skilled workroom.
